These paintings are part of my “Mutually Assured Seduction” series exploring a real and persistent preoccupation with desire, order, progress and work. From my time in AZ, the studies push into the tactile realm, imbuing the materials with a carnal, corporeal autonomy all their own. How would I touch the surface if it were a body? And, in doing so, what marks does my body leave behind? Watercolor and charcoal strokes created with brushes and fingers on thick Stonehenge Yupo and Aqua Cold Press paper floated in a white, wood frame.
