Italy, Day 19

(Spoiler Alert! You might want to start with Day 1 to follow this trip from the start!)

The next morning it rained so Zan ran down to Cristalli di Zucchero to fetch us pastries and espresso. My attempts to work on the blog were thwarted by a fickle internet connection so I resigned myself to making notes and editing photos offline. The night before Stéphane had volunteered to show us around the city so we headed out, as planned at 2pm, for our tour.

We met around the corner from our apartment and followed him around like eager ducklings. He zig zagged across the city, weaving in and out of frenetic traffic with a casual wave of his hand. As he guided us from site to site, he shared the historical significance of everything and anything with animated delight. This personal tour would have kicked Rick Steves in the ass and I strained to keep all the details straight as Zan whirled about making images all afternoon.

After our five hour sightseeing extravaganza, I most certainly cannot recall the day's sights with a shred of competence (but then, that's what Wikipedia is for.) Fortunately, Zan's camera was a much more reliable companion. Check out the pics below, the best of the best from our third day in Rome. (And, oh yeah, simply click on the name if you want more details.) Prego!
